An image is printed on the world’s finest photographic paper and then permanently attached to styrene, a thin but very sturdy mount board. This is the surefire way to prevent unwanted creases and buckling in a printed image. These prints are best used for float mounting or loose leaf storage. Float mounting is when the picture is attached to the backing board without mat board and appears to be floating within the picture frame. These prints can also be used for frames without matting, minimal display, and transporting protection.
Although these prints have UV protection, we recommend framing prints as well as abiding by advice given by The American Museum of Photography “keep your photographs away from bright light, widely fluctuating humidity, and extreme temperatures”.
